Our client is a North East charity who are dedicated to supporting and improving mental health and well-being. As part of their ongoing commitment to raising awareness to the services available they are looking to recruit a Communications Officer to join their organisation.

As the Communications Officer, you will be responsible for managing the charities internal and external communications, enhancing brand visibility.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for mental health, excellent communication skills and a creative mindset to create engaging content to deliver the charities message and mission.

The responsibilities include:

  • Performing market research and analyse
  • Working with management to create and plan public relations strategies and campaigns to enhance brand image and voice
  • Writing publicity content such as newsletters, social media, website copy, podcasts and leaflets
  • Coordinating promotional events.
  • Monitoring and responding to feedback from public about the organisation on traditional and digital channels.
  • Developing and disseminating public relations materials that increase visibility among stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that digital marketing content aligns with the company’s brand identity and message
  • Promote key dates in the mental health calendar to raise awareness of mental health, and the problems faced by those living with mental illness.

About You

Are you a motivated Communications Officer with experience of working in a charity organisation?

If this sounds like you, we really want to hear from you. You will require to have the following skills:

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in media, communications or similar field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use content management systems, social media platforms, web analytics tools and digital marketing methods.
  • Attention to details and problem solving skills
