Gillespie Recruitment is working with a well-established charitable organisation to recruit a Resident Warden based in Sunderland. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting residents’ wellbeing, independence and day-to-day safety within a peaceful residential setting.
This role would suit someone compassionate, observant and proactive, with experience supporting people in a care, wellbeing or community environment.
As a Resident Warden, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as a reassuring and visible presence on site
- Supporting the welfare, safety and independence of residents
- Carrying out daily site checks and ensuring the environment remains clean, safe and secure
- Coordinating and liaising with contractors and maintenance services
- Logging repairs and monitoring completion of work
- Maintaining accurate records relating to residents and the property
- Communicating regularly with residents, families and professionals where required
- Monitoring site security including gates and CCTV
- Supporting health & safety checks across the site
Successful candidates will have:
- Experience working directly with people (care, support, housing or wellbeing sectors)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A compassionate and patient approach
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Basic IT, literacy and numeracy skills
- Confidence dealing calmly with sensitive or challenging situations
Desirable:
- Background in social care, health or wellbeing
- Basic First Aid knowledge

Working Pattern
- Resident position with routine availability required between 8–10am and 6–8pm across a 7-day period
