Gillespie Recruitment is working with an established care provider to recruit a Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people within a structured, safe and nurturing residential environment.

This role would suit someone compassionate, observant and resilient, with experience in care, support work, education or a community-based setting.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

• Providing day-to-day care and support to young people
• Promoting independence, wellbeing and positive routines
• Supporting behaviour management strategies and de-escalation approaches
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across shifts
• Building positive professional relationships
• Completing accurate daily records and reports
• Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures
• Supporting young people to develop life skills and confidence

Successful candidates will have:

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Confidence managing sensitive or challenging situations
• Previous experience in residential care
