Gillespie Recruitment is working with an established care provider to recruit a Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people within a structured, safe and nurturing residential environment.
This role would suit someone compassionate, observant and resilient, with experience in care, support work, education or a community-based setting.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Providing day-to-day care and support to young people
- Promoting independence, wellbeing and positive routines
- Supporting behaviour management strategies and de-escalation approaches
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across shifts
- Building positive professional relationships
- Completing accurate daily records and reports
- Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Supporting young people to develop life skills and confidence
Successful candidates will have:
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confidence managing sensitive or challenging situations
- Previous experience in residential care
