We’re recruiting a Youth Engagement Worker on behalf of a well-established community organisation supporting young people in a disadvantaged area of the North East. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is motivated, values-driven and committed to creating positive change for young people.
The Role
As a Youth Engagement Worker, you’ll play a key role in engaging young people and encouraging them to take part in a wide range of activities, support programmes and opportunities. Working from a modern, purpose-built youth facility, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where young people feel listened to, supported and empowered.
This is a hands-on role that combines relationship-building, programme delivery and community engagement. You’ll work directly with young people, responding to their interests and needs, and helping them develop confidence, resilience and life skills.
Key Responsibilities

Engage and build positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds

Plan and deliver youth work sessions, activities and programmes that encourage participation

Support young people to explore opportunities, develop aspirations and engage with their community

Create a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for all young people

Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to enhance youth provision
Essential Skills & Experience

Experience delivering youth work programmes or activities

A clear understanding of the needs of young people in disadvantaged communities

Knowledge of approaches and methods that encourage active participation in youth work

Ability to build trust and rapport with young people

Flexibility to work evenings, Saturdays and during school holidays
Working Hours & Salary

Part-time role: 25 hours per week

Salary: £25,000 pro rata
